WaveNet Version 1.09 05.12.2005 ======================================================= 1. New installation ------------------------------------------------------- If you install WaveNet for the first time on a computer, then just follow the instructions in the 'WaveNet User Guide'. 2. Udate from an earlier version of WaveNet ------------------------------------------------------- Install WaveNet as you would do for a new installation. In order to keep all settings of your earlier WaveNet installation, you should install the new version to the same directory where the previous version was installed. If the installation program finds a previous installation of WaveNet, it will automatically suggest that directory. 3. Changes ------------------------------------------------------- Version Changes 1.00 -Initial release. 1.01 -Bug in handling multipart/mixed messages from Internet corrected. 1.02 -Error-handling improved for messages from WaveMail to Internet. Messages with invalid recipients (TO: / CC:) are now deleted after sending to SMTP. -More non-delivery-notifications are created if a message from WaveMail to Internet contains invalid recipients. 1.03 -Bug fix: Messages from Internet for GLPLUS recipients had additional useless header lines if the message was addressed to several GLPLUS stations. Is now OK. -Messages from internet for GLPLUS stations: long paragraphs without linefeed are now wrapped. 1.04 -Messages from Internet to WaveMail which do not have a Message-Id: header are now accepted (up to version 1.03 these messages were ignored by WaveNet). -Handling of Messages from Internet to WaveMail which have gone through a listserver has been improved. Messages from Internet to WaveMail which have gone through a listserver normally do not show the individual recipients in the TO: header. Therefore up to version 1.03 such messages were normally ignored by WaveNet. Starting with version 1.04 WaveNet tries to extract a recipient from the Received: headers. This works in most cases but not in all. The reason is that there is no standardized way how such messages are handled. -Bug fix: If dial-up connection to SMTP/POP3 servers is used, WaveNet did not disconnect after certain error conditions. Has been fixed. 1.04a -Bug fix: WaveNet sometimes added invalid addresses to messages from Internet -> WaveMail. Has been fixed. 1.04b -Bug fix: WaveNet had a problem with Dialup-Connections on PCs running Windows2000. Has been fixed. 1.05 -When a delivery- or nondelivery-notification is sent from WaveMail to Internet, then WaveNet will now add the subject of the original message to the notification message -In messages from internet to WaveMail, Wavenet deletes Microsoft specific attachments which are created by Outlook if messages in Outlook are written in Richtext-Format or if Outlook sends read-confirmations. These attachments are not needed. attachments 1.06 -Bug fix: Memory leak fixed. -Non-Delivery-Notifications modified 1.07 -Problem with HTML-Messages from Hotmail and other non-standard mailers fixed 1.08 -Bug fix: problems with malformed messages fixed 1.09 -SMTP-Authentication added (for SMTP servers which require authentication) =======================================================
